King's Church is lead by Gavin & Matthew and they are supported by the leaders of Relational Mission. The church also has a group of Trustees to help the church fulfil its vision.

Matthew & Alison Lane

Matthew and Alison Lane - married in 2002 after meeting on a discipleship course in Manchester...as you do. Matthew has been involved in King’s for many years. Together they have two young children.

Until recently, Matthew was working as a teacher at a local Primary School. Before he studied and trained to teach, Matthew was in the Finance Department at Southend Borough Council - now Southend City Council.

Alison is an experienced

secondary school teacher. She taught Citizenship amongst other subjects. She obtained a law degree and then trained to teach.

At the moment her priorities are their children, and working at KMAC.

Together, Matthew and Alison head up a  number of children's work at King's  namely on Sundays. They have a real passion for pastoral discipleship, to see people growing well in their faith and in their lives and personal development.

Gavin & Sue Dixon

Gavin & Sue Dixon - have been married since 1986 and they have one son, Mark.

They are both originally from Southend, and met in their local church youth group - sweet!

As well as being an elder of King's Church, Gavin is also the manager of KMAC (King's Money Advice Centre). King's Church also encourages him to be involved with other local groups of churches including Love Southend and Churches Together in Leigh. Gavin enjoys catching up with other church leaders...usually at his favourite venue, The Roslin Hotel.

Sue is a Year 6  teacher at a local Primary School and is a member of the School's leadership team. Sue is also on the church Finance Team, and helps with children's work some Sundays. Sue loves her garden and running. Both of these help her unwind from school.

They have spent  a number of years travelling around the UK and Europe leading evangelistic teams working alongside local churches.  They've moved a round a bit too - in the UK and the Continent. They returned home to Southend in 2002 from the fine city of Norwich.

Mark graduated with a First Class Hons Degree in Aerospace Technology. He is now employed as a Design Engineer.
